Number of COVID-19 cases in India reaches 1.9 Million

NEW DELHI: The pandemic has already forced countries to reinstate restrictive measures, including lockdowns in some areas, as new outbreaks of the coronavirus are being confirmed in Europe and Asia. At the same time, India, South Africa, and Latin America show growing daily numbers.

At the moment, the US tops the list of the most affected countries with over 4.7 million infected and more than 156,000 deaths from COVID-19, according to Johns Hopkins University. Brazil is second with 2.8 million cases and a death toll of 95,000, while India, which is showing the highest daily increase, has confirmed 1.9 million cases and around 39,000 dead.
