SARGODHA: The provincial health department will organise a one-week nutrition programme under the Integrated Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and Nutrition Programme in the district from April 8 to 13.
The programme would also highlight the nutritional importance in women and its needs after two year of child birth. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Health Dr Suleman, while talking to the media here on Sunday, said all-out efforts were being made to implement the programme.
All officials concerned, including District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Riaz Ahmed, and Tehsil health officer were also participating in the campaign.
During the campaign, the health department would also provide medicines to children for their treatment.
The department will also distribute sachet packs of vitamin and mineral among children age of six months to two years age. The department would also arrange seminars and awareness campaigns across the district to make the nutritional week a success, he said and urged people to cooperate with teams for the best future of children and mothers.
