LASHKARGAH: Three police personnel including an officer were killed in a roadside blast in Sangin district in Helmand province on Thursday.
According to a press release issued by Helmand police headquarters, an improvised explosive device ripped through a police van in Kampark Manda area in the limits of Sangin district.
Resultantly, three police personnel were killed. The fallen cops included an officer Toryalai Afghan, the press release stated. Meanwhile, Taliban claimed responsibility for the bombing.
In a separate incident, Kapisa police spokesman Abdul Shaiq Sarwish told AIP that armed motorcyclists shot dead a prosecutor Asmatullah Khaliqi in Kotala area in Kohistan district.
The deceased was on his way towards duty when the gunmen attacked him, he added. Two security guards of Asmatullah sustained injuries in the incident.
Separately, sources said a former ANA officer was killed in the fifth security zone in Kabul city yesterday.
The sources said that former commander of 215 Maiwand military corps Aminullah Alakozai was killed in Khushak Khal Maina area in the fifth security zone of Kabul city. Currently, the deceased was running his own business. The deceased was resident of Kandahar
Meanwhile, the Alakozai council expressed grief over the killing of Aminullah Alakoza.
Meanwhile, Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, saying Aminullah Alakozai was incumbent commander of commando forces in southern provinces. (AIP)
