OGDCL empowers athletes for Special Olympics World Games to showcase talent on global stage

ISLAMABAD: Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) continues its commitment to inclusivity and support for unique talent by sponsoring 20 exceptional athletes to represent Pakistan in the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023.

This initiative, in collaboration with Special Olympics Pakistan, highlights OGDCL’s dedication to social responsibility and provides a platform for these athletes to showcase their skills on a global stage.

At a heartwarming farewell event held at the OGDCL Head Office in Islamabad on Wednesday, Ahmed Hayat Lak, MD/CEO of OGDCL, delivered an inspiring speech to motivate the special athletes.

He emphasized the company’s belief in the inherent abilities and potential of every individual, irrespective of their physical or intellectual challenges. OGDCL is committed to unlocking untapped potential and positively contributing to society. The company has continuously launched initiatives to explore and support young talent, contributing to both the country and society.

Under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, the company has partnered with the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) to provide quality skills to young students. The company also has a long-standing strategic partnership with IBA Karachi, making quality education accessible to underserved communities.

The Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023, scheduled to be held in Berlin, Germany, from 17th June 2023, will witness the participation of extraordinary athletes from around the world.
