ISLAMABAD: People should get ready for another economic shock as the OGRA has sent a summary to the federal government to raise gas prices by 16.37 percent on average, on Wednesday.
According to details, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority has approved 16.37 percent average hike in gas rate for Sui Northern and 6.35 percent raise for Sui Southern.
The Ogra approved Rs94/MMBTU hike in the rate for Sui Northern. And for Sui Southern, it approved Rs50/MMBTU increase.
The gas companies submitted their requests for the hike in 2021-22.
The final decision will be taken by the government on Ogra’s recommendations.
After the federal government’s approval, Ogra will issue a notification in this regard.
