KARACHI: An oil tanker overturned near Qazi Ahmed area on Friday while carrying 50,000 fuels traveling on National Highway from Faisalabad to Karachi.
The district and motorway police reached the spot after the incident and cordoned off the area and called for rescue teams and fire brigade with the aim to make sure the safety of people and undertake the rescue operation as the fuel spread in the area after the incident.
Police officials were trying to make sure to stop any unexpected incident like Ahmedpur Sharqya in which dozens of people were killed.
The local authorities also informed that surprisingly the fire tenders not only reached the area late but also did not have required foam to take action in case of any possible incident.
