RAWALPINDI (Monitoring Desk): Security forces conducted intelligence based operations (IBOs) in two provinces of the country. Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), in view of the nationwide Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad deemed at eradicating terrorism, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) told on Friday.
In Balochistan, Balochistan FC and intelligence agencies carried out a joint IBO in Zhob to target a terrorist hideout. Amongst the arrested include Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) facilitator. The TTP facilitator was taken into custody after the raid.
Security forces recovered explosives, IEDs and weapons from the hideout. These weapons were to be used in a terrorist attack in Quetta, ISPR said.
In KP, security forces conducted an IBO in Mandi Khel near Dosaali, North Wazirstan. The forces recovered a large amount of weapons and ammunition from the site including guns, mortars, rocket launchers, IEDs, explosives, communication equipment and extremist literature.
