ISLAMABAD: Senior leader, Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) and leader of the House in Senate, Raja Zafar-ul-Haq has categorically said that those opposing Maryam Nawaz to head the part must choose any other way.
“We have no objection if Maryam Nawaz comes forward and rein in the party”, he said in an exclusive interview with “Online”. He justified criticism on judiciary’s verdict was right of Nawaz Sharif. He said apex court gave its verdict against Nawaz Sharif. “We have nothing left behind but to contact with the masses, which is a big court”, he added. He further said PML-N has no personal enmity with the dignitaries.
Raja Zafar-ul-Haq , who is also leader of the house in Senate, said that role of the establishment could not be ruled out in politics of Pakistan. He said some decisions are made with the mutual consultation, which are in the best national interest. He said Establishment is a part of Pakistan. He said that time has proved that stance of Faizabad sit in was correct and resignation of Law Minister for also correct. He said constitution of Pakistan gives authority to Kashmiris that what would be the terms and conditions for Kashmiris to live with Pakistan.
Talking about the inherited politics in Pakistan, he said those who were talking about the inherited politics, were promoting it now. What was the eligibility to award PTI ticket to Jehangir Tareen’s son, ? he posed a question. He said even name was not heard of his son, adding the eligibility criteria was only being son of Jehangir Tareen.
He observed that level of Pakistan Tehrik Insaf (PTI) was decreasing gradually, saying it (PTI) will not be visible in the politics of Pakistan in future. He further said that future of Pakistan was linked with the democracy. He urged on political parties to promote democracy in their ranks.
He noted that there were difficulties for democracy, adding he was optimistic that democracy will strengthen the country. He added people will get their rights, their issues would be resolved and leaders of political parties do nothing but except exchanging allegations. He said an atmosphere of competition among political parties must be created that who was serving the country in a better way, to pullout the country from foreign debts, highlight the soft image of Pakistan and eradicate unemployment.
Senior PML-N leader stressed on all political parties to adopt positive attitude and stop leg pulling to strengthen the democracy. He accused PTI Chairman for launching politics of allegations and accusations. Talking about democracy within PML-N, he said party elections are held following the constitution.
He said his party was strengthening due to democracy in the party. He further said efforts were made to divide PML-N and Sharif family but the opponents could not succeed in their designs.
He rejected the impression of differences in PML-N. He informed all party leaders were present in the Parliamentary party meeting except Chaudhry Nisar. He said Senate tickets were issued with mutual consultation. He said some people have had reservations for issuing Senate tickets, which were resolved amicably.
When asked whether he (Zafar) opposed awarding Senate ticket to Mushahid Hussain Syed, he said Mushahid Husain is an educated person and he has no differences with Mushahid. He said next general elections would be held on time.
He said he was a senior party leader and has the right to become as Chairman Senate, adding party leader Nawaz Sharif’s decision will be accepted, in this regard. He termed the participation of religious factors as a good omen in the politics of Pakistan.
About the longstanding Kashmir issue he said, no decision would be made without the aspirations of Kashmiri people. He said Kashmir issued would be resolved under United Nations’ resolutions. He further said decision of Kashmiris would be accepted from heart.
