ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Dr Babar Awan here on Friday said that the opposition was staging drama on presidential system to divert people’s attention from fake accounts cases.
Talking to journalists, Dr Babar Awan rejected the possibility of presidential system in the country and said that two-third majority was required in the parliament for a constitutional amendment which the current government did not have.
He said, ” Nawaz Sharif is beating the drums of ‘Mujhay Kyun Nikala’ and PPP is staging drama on the presidential system.”
Dr Babar Awan father said that opposition trying to misguide the nation on presidential system. He said that no one could harm the country.
He said that Prime Minister Imran Sharif would never compromise on corruption and would bring the plunderers of national wealth to justice.
Earlier in the day, opposing the presidential system, Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari termed the system undemocratic and harmful for Pakistan.
Talking to journalists, Bilawal warned of resistance if someone tried to impose the presidential system in the country. He said that they would foil every conspiracy against democracy and declared parliamentary system imperative for resolution of the country’s problems.
Criticizing National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the PPP chairman said that the institution was constituted for political engineering by the former president Pervez Musharraf.
