TIMERGARA: Residents of Maskini darra and Samar Bagh on Monday demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and high ups of health department to take notice of the outbreak of measles and chikungunya fever in their areas.
Talking to local journalists at Munda the residents of Maskini Darra said that measles had been broken out due to which children had been the worst affected. They said that so far two children had died in their area but they did not know they were died of measles. The residents said that majority of people in their area were poor and they only depended on domestic or homemade medication in case of measles.
Similarly the residents of Samar Bagh complained that Chikungunya fever had broken out in their area. They said that men and women of all ages were suffering from high fever with small granules on their bodies that looked like measles.
The residents demanded of the government to take notice of the matter and send medical teams of experts to the area for further investigation and health care. A physician working at the THQ hospital Samar Bagh Dr Dilawar Khan said that number of patients with fever had been rising in the area. He said the facility had no vaccines to treat the chikungunya patients.
