Over 290 injured in road accident in Afghanistan’s Kandahar: Officials

Kandahar (Agenices): According to provincial officials in Kandahar province, over 290 individuals were injured in road accidents during the three days of Eid.
The provincial officials added that 135 traffic accidents occurred during the three days of Eid-ul-Fitr. According to Abdul Haleem Hussaini, director of Kandahar’s Mirwais Hospital, two hundred ninety-three people were hurt. Similarly, in the most recent traffic accident, a minibus travelling on the Kabul-Kandahar route flipped, killing six persons and injuring another 18.
Meanwhile, the officials said over 220 people were injured during the Eid days due to traffic accidents in western Herat province. In addition, officials added that 75 more people were hurt during the Eid festival due to other criminal instances in the province of Herat.

Officials believe that violations of traffic laws, speeding, and deteriorated roads are to blame for accidents.
