PA Speaker summons 26 suspended PTI members for personal hearing

LAHORE: Punjab Assembly Speaker has started proceedings on the disqualification references of 26 suspended PTI MPAs as Speaker Malik Ahmed Khan has received references against them under Articles 63(2) and 113.

Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan has summoned suspended MPAs for personal hearing on the references tomorrow (July 11) at 11am in the Speaker’s Chamber. Under the Constitution, the Speaker is bound to decide on disqualification references within 30 days.

The spokesperson of PA has made it clear that under Article 10A of the Constitution, members of the assembly were being given the right to a fair hearing by Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan.

PA Speaker has said that all members involved in the references will be provided with a full opportunity to defend themselves within the constitutional framework.
