PAC examines audit paras of Ministry of Communications

ISLAMABAD: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Thursday examined the audit Paras of ministry of Communications, National Highway Authority (NHA) and directed the Ministry to investigate within the 30 days the variations/excess payment beyond revised PC-1 with a view to fix responsibility against the persons.

The committee which met here at Parliament House under the chairmanship of MNA Rana Tanveer Hussain, chairman of the committee also sought recovery details of overpaid amount of Rs. 413.007 million. Members of the committee including MNA Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, MNA Noor Alam Khan, MNA Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, MNA Khwaja Sheraz Mehmood, MNA Munaza Hassan, MNA Aamer Mehmood Kiani, MNA Riaz Fatiyana and Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed.

The committee examined 5 highlighted audit Paras in order of highest amount involved therein.

Member of the Committee Noor Alam Khan also raised the issued of Motorway Toll Plazas. Chairman of the committee said that the issue was discussed in details in previous meeting. Appreciating Secretary Communications, he expressed the hope that the recommendations of the committee would be implemented in good spirit.
