LAHORE: Fast bowler Naseem Shah has been hospitalised after contracting a viral infection and was ruled out of today’s T20 International against England, on Wednesday.
The pacer was taken to a hospital Tuesday night after his condition deteriorated, said a team spokesperson. The 19-year-old has been suffering from a high-grade fever due to a chest infection.
He underwent several screening tests including the dengue virus after which he was admitted to a private medical facility for treatment.
“Naseem Shah is feeling well now. However, he will not be available for today’s T20 match with England that is scheduled to be held at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium,” he added.
“His availability for the next matches will be decided in the light of his medical reports,” he stated.
