Padmavati: BJP leader announces Rs100 million head money for Deepika, Sanjay Leela

MUMBAI: A senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Suraj Pal Amu has announced Rs100 million prize for the heads of director of Padmavati, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika Padukone, who played the role of Padmavati in the film.

He also threatened Ranveer Singh who plays the role of Allauddin Khilji in the movie and adding that he will break his legs for working in the movie. The extremist Hindu of BJP praised those announcing head money.

Many Rajput groups have raised questions over the Padmavati and alleged that film has objectionable scenes of Queen Padmavati and Emperor Alauddin Khilji and has tampered with historical facts.

The film has been making headlines months before its release in December, which was recently postponed due to the incessant controversy.

Many Indian celebrities and actors have come out in support of the film, including Salman Khan and Shabana Azmi.
