Pakistan abolishes sales tax on fruit imports from Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has abolished sales tax on imports of fruits from Afghanistan.

The Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) has issued a notification in this regard. The waiving of sales tax, however, will not imply on apple imports. Pakistan had levied 20 percent sales tax on the imports of fruits from Afghanistan, the notification said, a copy of which has been dispatched to custom collectors of Peshawar and Quetta.

According to the FBR, Pakistan imports grapes, pomegranates, apples and melons.
