Pakistan achieved success in the against terrorism: PM Abbasi

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Thursday said that Pakistan lead role in the war against terrorism and sacrifices thousands of soldiers and civilian in the hectic war.

PM Abbasi said this while addressing to a ceremony organized by International Counter-Terrorism Forum in Islamabad. PM Abbasi asked that tell me the name of another country which sent 20,000 soldiers to fight terrorists as we always played a lead in the fight.

He added that the incident in the Army Public School was turning point and the whole nation decided to develop a strategy to counter terrorism.

PM Abbasi further added that we have countered extremism by developing a public stance on terrorism.

Regarding the Pakistan relations with Afghanistan, PM Abbasi told that nobody wants peace in Afghanistan more than Pakistan however; the only way to restoring peace is through dialogue and not war.

Premier rejected the claims of terrorist sanctuaries in Pakistan and said that there are no terrorist’s sanctuaries in Pakistan.  He added that the terrorists sanctuaries in Afghanistan are creating problems in the region and unfortunately Afghanistan and NATO forces were unable to control these elements and blaming Pakistan for it.

PM Abbasi shared that the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK) issue will only be resolved through the implementation of UN Security Council resolution.

“The international community should accept what is going in Kashmir, atrocities are being committed, human rights are being violated. People of all ages are being targeted.”

He added, “We are firm in our resolve to ensure country’s economic progress.”
