LONDON (Agencies): England’s former captain Nasser Hussain rated Pakistan as favourites to win the upcoming edition of the World Cup, pencilled in from May 30 to July 16 in England and Wales. Hussain, while talking to a renowned sports website, said that Pakistan had played terrible ODI cricket against Australia but still they will be a surprise package in the upcoming multi-nation tournament.
“I know they played poor cricket against Australia but still they can be lethal in the upcoming mega event. They are known for giving unpredictable results as they did in Champions Trophy and I believe they would produce something amazing this time around as well,” said Hussain. It merits mentioning here that Pakistan will face England in a five-match ODI series before taking on West Indies in their first match of the World Cup on May 31 at Trent Bridge.
