Pakistan confirms 1,629 new coronavirus cases with 23 deaths in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan reported 1,629 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours (Sunday), the latest data from the National Command and Control (NCOC) shows.

There were 23 more causalities related to the deadly disease as death toll due to coronavirus has reached 11,318 that represents a ratio of 2.1%. According to the NCOC, 21 patients died in hospitals while two died outside the hospitals. According to the latest figures, 1,629 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 36,607 tests.

It takes the total cases tally to 534,041 that returned positive after conducting 7,680,242 total tests so far. The number of active cases in the country reached 33,820 with 2,218 patients in critical condition. There were 300 patients on the ventilators. There were 2,414 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 488,903 with a 91.5% recovery rate.

Punjab

Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 607 new cases in last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 154,017 with 10,555 active cases. In Punjab, seven more patients died as the death toll reached 4,568. With 1,216 new recoveries, 138,894 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.

Sindh

The most affected province Sindh has once again recorded 630 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 241,200 with 17,827 active cases. In Sindh, four more patients died as the death toll reached 3,892. With 793 new recoveries, 219,481 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 245 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 65,532 with 3,217 active cases. The province reported seven new virus-related deaths as the death toll reached 1,839. With 254 new recoveries, 60,476 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Balochistan

Balochistan has recorded another 14 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 18,750 with 273 active cases. The province reported no new death as the death toll remains at 193. With 36 new recoveries, 18,284 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Islamabad

Islamabad has recorded 102 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 40,815 with 1,610 active cases. With three new deaths reported in the Federal Capital, the virus death toll reached 468. With 100 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 38,737 in the federal capital so far.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has recorded 30 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 8,825 with 308 active cases. Two new deaths were reported as the death toll reached 256. There were 15 new recoveries in the AJK as 8,261 patients have recovered so far from the virus.

Gilgit-Baltistan

Gilgit-Baltistan recorded one new case during the last 24 hours, as the tally reached 4,902 with 30 active cases. No new death reported in the province as the death toll remains at 102. No new patient was recovered as well from the virus as patients recovered from the deadly disease remained at 4,770.
