Pakistan confirms first coronavirus case in Karachi

KARACHI: Pakistan’s first novel coronavirus case was confirmed Wednesday evening as a young man has been diagnosed with the highly contagious contagion in Karachi.

Yayha Jaffri, 22, has a history of travel to Iran where he is believed to have contracted the virus, according to the Sindh Health Department. He travelled from Iran to Karachi along with his family.

Jaffri and his family have been placed in quarantine and the health department is in the process of examining all the passengers he has travelled with.
