ISLAMABAD: Pakistan have maintained their iron grip on the number one spot in T20I rankings, after the latest update issued by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Pakistan’s position at the top is under no immediate threat as the second placed side India is at 122 points.

Pakistan has a 13 point lead which is going to be hard to overcome in the near future.

Top-order batsman Babar Azam remains at the top of the batting charts meanwhile opener Fakhar Zaman occupies the 9th spot.

The South African opener Reeza Hendricks climbed 26 places to number 15 in the ICC T20I rankings for batsman. Jean-Paul Duminy climbed 7 places to the 32nd spot, Rassie van der Dussen jumped 33 spots to number 41 and Niroshan Dickwella climbed 19 places to the 78th spot.

In the bowling charts, three Pakistan bowlers found themselves in the top ten. Leg-spinner Shadab Khan found himself at number two; all-rounder Imad Wasim was placed at number four while all-rounder Faheem Ashraf is at the 9th position. South African player Andile Phehlukwayo climbed 14 spots to the 10th position while Tabraiz Shamsi climbed 41 spots to the 35th position in the rankings.

Aussie Glenn Maxwell holds the number one spot in the all-rounders list, while Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan occupies the second spot.

The South African team recently completed a clean sweep in a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. However this did not change their position at number five in the rankings.
