Pakistan must take action against militants groups: US state department

WASHINGTON: US States Department Spokesperson has said Pakistan must changes its approach towards terrorism and needs to work in stabilizing the region in the better interest of all the countries.

The US official has appreciated the recent statement of BRICS regarding terming the Pakistan based militant groups, a regional security threat and concern and adding that US encouraging the BRCIS forum for contributing in global governance and stability.

The US official reminded Pakistan of the need to fight all militant groups operating that were creating problems in the region and also pointing out by the Washington which are based in FATA which are threat to regional security.

The groups mentioned in the BRICS statement included the Afghan Tali­ban, Islamic State group, Al Qaeda and its affiliates, the Haqqani network, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad, Teh­reek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Hizbul Tahrir.
