Pakistan records 1,592 new coronavirus cases, 22 deaths in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan reported 1,592 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours (Sunday), the latest data from the National Command and Control (NCOC) shows.

There were 22 more causalities related to the deadly disease as the death toll due to coronavirus has reached 13,227 that represents a ratio of 2.2%.

According to the latest figures, 1,592 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 34,347 tests.

It takes the total cases tally to 592,100 that returned positive after conducting 9,246,827 total tests so far.

The number of active cases in the country is 18,415 with 1,609 patients in critical condition.

There were 1,210 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 560,458 with a 94.7% recovery rate.

Punjab has reported so far 177,823 cases with 6,580 still active cases.

In Punjab, 5,565 patients have been died so far due to the virus while 165,678 patients have recovered.

The most affected province Sindh has reported 259,855 cases to date with 6,241 active cases. In Sindh, 4,426 died due to the virus with 249,188 recoveries.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 74,027 cases so far with 2,517 cases still active. The province reported 2,113 deaths with 69,397 patients recoveries.

Balochistan has 19,117 cases with 107 active cases. The province reported 201 deaths while 18,809 patients have recovered from the virus in the province.

Islamabad’s virus tally has reached 45,740 with 2,231 active cases. The Federal Capital has reported 509 deaths with 43,000 recoveries to date.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded total 10,579 cases with 735 active cases. The death toll in AJK is 311 with 9,533 recoveries.

Gilgit-Baltistan has recorded 4,959 cases and there are only 4 active cases. 102 patients died due to the virus while 4,853 have recovered.
