Pakistan registers 2,333 new coronavirus cases during last 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: All the coronavirus indicators in Pakistan have continued to show downward trends as the government has indicated at further tightening the restriction for the unvaccinated people.

Pakistan has registered another 47 deaths and 2,333 infections by coronavirus during the last 24 hours (Tuesday), showed the statistics released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Wednesday morning.

As per the NCOC figures, after the addition of 47 new deaths, the overall toll has now surged to 27,374 whereas the number of total infections now stood at 1,230,238 after adding the fresh 2,333 cases.

During the last 24 hours (Tuesday), a total of 51,139 tests were conducted throughout Pakistan whereas the positivity ratio stood at 4.56 percent. The number of patients in critical care was 4,641.

During the last 24 hours (Tuesday), as many as 3,261 patients have recovered from the virus whereas the total recoveries stood at 1,140,917. As of Wednesday, the total count of active cases in the country was recorded at 61,947.

As many as 452,267 coronavirus cases have so far been confirmed in Sindh, 424,701 in Punjab, 171,874 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 104,472 in Islamabad, 32,796 in Balochistan, 33,864 in Azad Kashmir and 10,264 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Moreover, 12,470 individuals have lost their lives to the pandemic in Punjab so far, 7,295 in Sindh, 5,444 in KP, 905 in Islamabad, 733 in Azad Kashmir, 345 in Balochistan and 182 in Gilgit Baltistan.

A day earlier, the NCOC had alerted unvaccinated people that they will be barred from ‘daily-life’ facilities if they do not get themselves vaccinated by October 1. The NCOC further advised the public to complete their vaccination process as soon as possible and keep their life going.
