Pakistan reports 1,392 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan reported 1,392 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours (Sunday), the latest data from the National Command and Control (NCOC) shows.

There were 36 more causalities related to the deadly disease as the death toll due to coronavirus has reached 12,896 that represents a ratio of 2.2%. According to the latest figures, 1,392 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 38,338 tests.

It takes the total cases tally to 581,365 that returned positive after conducting 8,990,176 total tests so far. The number of active cases in the country is 22,098 with 1,568 patients in critical condition. There were 1,094 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 546,371 with a 94% recovery rate.

Punjab

Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 715 new cases in the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 172,054 with 5,222 active cases. In Punjab, 13 more patients died of coronavirus as the death toll reached 5,363. With 471 new recoveries, 161,469 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.

Sindh

The most affected province Sindh has recorded 262 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 258,266 with 12,052 active cases. In Sindh, 7 more patients died of the deadly disease as the death toll reached 4,350. With 384 new recoveries, 241,864 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 262 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 72,424 with 2,217active cases. The province reported 7 new virus-related deaths as the death toll reached 2,079. With 104 new recoveries, 68,128 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Balochistan

Balochistan has recorded another 4 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 19,049 with 95 active cases. The province reported no new death as the death toll remained at 200. With nine new recoveries, 18,754 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Islamabad

Islamabad has recorded 114 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 44,373 with 1,787 active cases. With 5 new deaths reported in the Federal Capital as the virus death toll reached 501. With 90 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 42,085 in the federal capital so far.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir

Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 45 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 10,243 with 714 active cases. With 4new deaths reported, the death toll remains at 301. There were 33 new recoveries in the AJK as 9,228 patients have recovered so far from the virus.

Gilgit-Baltistan

Gilgit-Baltistan recorded no new case during the last 24 hours, as the tally remains at 4,956 with 11 active cases. No new death reported in the province, the death toll remains at 102. There were two new recoveries reported as well as patients recovered from the deadly disease remained at 4,843.
