Pakistan victorious in Pak-Afghan Target Ball C’ship

ISLAMABAD (APP): Pakistan outplayed Afghan team by 38-18 in the match of the inaugural Pak-Afghan Target Ball Championship 2023 here at the Liaquat Gymnasium of Pakistan Sports Board.
Raihan Quraishi was the standout performer in the match, earning the title of the best scorer.
The Chief Guest for the event was Miss Sadia Ahmed, a Lawyer and Young Parliamentarian Associate in the Senate of Pakistan. Muhammad Ashraf, Assistant Director of Facilities at Pakistan Sports Board, and Fida Khan, the Director of Hostels were also present on the occasion.
Sadia Ahmed expressed her gratitude for the outstanding coordination efforts of the Director General of Pakistan Sports Board and its senior officials, which led to the successful organization of this championship.
She emphasized the pivotal role such sporting events play in enhancing Pakistan’s international image and drawing the attention of global athletes. Moreover, she highlighted the platform this competition provides for young players to showcase their talent and pride in representing their nation.
She urged Pakistan’s government, private associations, and organizations, including sports industrialists and renowned hotels, to lend their support and sponsorship to such games.
She said sports, beyond the realm of competition, hold immense benefits for both physical and mental well-being.
