Pakistan will retaliate to any aggression from India, PM Imran warns

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has warned that Pakistan will retaliate in case, if India initiates a war in the wake of Pulwama Attack, here on Tuesday.

PM Imran Khan said this while giving a policy statement over the Pulwama attack in the occupied Kashmir that killed nearly 40 Indian army personnel on Feb 14.

Khan responded to India’s blame game against Pakistan after the blame game of India against Pakistan and adding that he is  hearing and seeing on Indian media that their politicians are calling for revenge from Pakistan. If India attacks, then Pakistan will not think but retaliate, he cautioned.

PM Imran Khan asked the Indian government to provide solid evidence of the Pakistan’s involvement in Pulwama attack and he assured to investigate the perpetrators if “actionable intelligence shared with Pakistan.”

While explaining the delay behind issuance of a policy statement, PM Khan said, “I am responding to the Indian government now because the Saudi crown prince was visiting the country and we were busy with that.”

He added that India always accused Pakistan without any evidence and without thinking how this

would benefit us. “Would even a fool try to sabotage such an important visit as that of the Saudi crown prince?” PM Khan asked.

“Kashmiris are not afraid of death anymore. Should there not be a discussion in India on this?” he pointed out while asking, “which law in the world allows everyone to become a judge, jury?”

He stressed that the Kashmir issue is like the Afghan conflict, which will only be resolved through talks.

Recounting Pakistan’s 15-year old fight against terrorism, Khan asserted, “We are ready for talks with India on terrorism, we want stability.” adding that terrorism is a big issue and Pakistan wants to eliminate it from the region.

Pulwama Attack

On 14 February 2019, a convoy of vehicles carrying security personnel on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway was attacked by a vehicle-borne suicide bomber at Lethpora in the Pulwama district of India-Ocuupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The attack resulted in the death of more than 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and the attacker. The responsibility for the attack was claimed by the militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed. A local youth named Adil Ahmed Dar was identified as the attacker.

Indian media and politicians have since been blaming Pakistan for the attack without any evidence.
