Pakistan witness decrease in gold prices

ISLAMABAD: At the beginning of the week, the gold prices in international and Pakistani markets heavily decreased on Monday.

According to reports, the prices of the 24 karats of pure gold in the Pakistani jewellers market fell by Rs2,500 per tola to Rs2,22,200 per tola.

The price of 10 grams of the 24 karats of pure gold decreased by Rs2,143 and was traded at Rs1,90,501 per 10 grams in the Pakistani market.

Rates of the gold of 22 karats that is usually used for making jewellery in Pakistan were also decreased and traded at Rs1,74,626 per 10 grams.

The rates of gold in the international market on Monday also decreased by US$16 per ounce to US$1,959 per ounce.

Against the trend of reduction of rates of gold in the market, the price of pure silver of 24 karats was increased by Rs50 per tola and traded at Rs2,800 per tola.

The rates of 10 grams of pure silver of 24 karats also increased by Rs42.86 per 10 grams and traded at Rs2,400.54 per 10 grams in the local market.
