Pakistani actor Sheheryar Munawar embraces spirituality during pandemic

F.P. Report

KARACHI: The very promising Pakistani actor Sheheryar Munawar found spirituality amidst the struggles of Covid-19 pandemic. During an interview, Sheheryar dived deep into how he tries to see beyond the minor proceedings of life and started submitting to prayers so he can find solitude by remaining convinced that Allah Almighty will take care of everything.

He emphasised over how he didn’t give much importance to goals which won’t have a long-term effect.

In a dire need for acceptance, he says we get scared and anxious but we don’t realise that we are merely a very small part of a massive universe. If we realize that we always get what is meant for us then we will certainly be at peace.

He further reveals that before Covid-19 he was unstoppable and kept moving from one project to another. Then the pandemic converted his energy to anxiety due to sitting idle.  With a lot of free time, Sheheryar understood the meaning of life and he understood that he can never know what is meant for him also what lies in the future which set him free.

When Sheheryar was asked what impact embracing spirituality had on his career, he said: “The acting roles that I have chosen for myself have always followed a moral compass. If I play a negative character, I make sure that he isn’t glorified. And no, I am not going to get preachy,” Sheheryar declared with humour.

“I am not a preachy person by nature. I believe in living and letting live. I also feel that we should teach others by example, by treating kindness with kindness.

In my case, this also means tackling trolls in a respectful way. You can’t fight darkness with darkness. The only way to fight darkness is with light.” Sheheryar’s approach.

The actor wants everyone to know that it is cool to be religious and everything can be embraced equally while also staying connected with your lord: “My only concern is that I shouldn’t hurt anyone. I won’t lie about who I am or what I think just so certain liberals would continue to support me. I

won’t lie about the way I want to live my life just so others could feel that they understand me better, and I want people to know that it’s cool to be religious.

That you can still enjoy yourselves with your friends, pursue you’re ambitions and leave a balanced life while still staying deeply connected to religion. There could be no better message.”

Sheheryar Munawar Siddiqui is a 32-year-old Pakistani actor and film producer.

He has received immense appreciation for his role in one of Pakistan’s highest grossing film Parey Hut Love.
