(Web Desk): Pakistani Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) champions Mehmosh ‘The Renegade’ Raza and Rafiq Afridi brought home titles in the featherweight and bantamweight divisions, respectively, after defeating Indian competitors Ravi Saw and Pradeep Hooda at an international MMA championship.
Raza clinched the featherweight title in a powerful win over Saw, while Afridi claimed victory in the bantamweight division by overcoming Hooda. Their impressive performances were part of a larger wave of Pakistani success, as fellow fighters Ijaz Ahmed, Mujahid Baig, and Musab Asif also won their matches against opponents from India and Afghanistan. Afghan athletes Samir Nusrat and Amil Siddiqui achieved victories in their own bouts as well.
Adding to this series of triumphs, Manisha Ali, a student at Lahore’s Garrison University, earned a gold medal in the +73kg category at the 6th Asian Taekwondo Championship held by KASAD in Tangerang, Indonesia, distinguishing herself among hundreds of competitors from across Asia.
These achievements underscore Pakistan’s growing prowess in combat sports, showcasing talent and dedication on an international stage.
