Pakistan’s coronavirus positivity ratio reduces to 4.42%

ISLAMABAD: The fourth wave of coronavirus continues to decline in Pakistan as the positivity ratio reduced to 4.22%, showed the data released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Monday morning.

Pakistan reported 40 more coronavirus deaths and 2,167 new cases that emerged during the last 24 hours (Sunday).

According to the statistics released by NCOC, after the addition of 40 new deaths, the toll has now surged to 27,246, which represents a ratio of 2.2 percent.

The positivity ratio of the coronavirus cases in Pakistan has reached 4.22 percent, as 2,167 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 51,348 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 1,226,008.

The number of active cases in the country is 63,724 with 4,840 patients in critical condition.

There were 2,312 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 1,135,038 with a 92.6% recovery rate.

Punjab

Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 990 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking the provincial tally to 422,790 with 22,484active cases. In Punjab, 11 more patients died of coronavirus as the death toll reached 12,407. With 1,254 new recoveries, 387,899 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.

Sindh

Sindh has recorded 661 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 450,787 with 29,761 active cases. With 12 new deaths related to the deadly disease, the death toll in Sindh reached 7,270. With 297 new recoveries, 413,756 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 316 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 171,388 with 7,075 active cases. The province reported 17 new virus-related deaths as the death toll reached 5,412. With 388 new recoveries, 158,901 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Balochistan

Balochistan has recorded another 12 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 32,769 with 329 active cases. The province reported no new death as the death toll remains at 344. With 14 new recoveries, 32,096 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.

Islamabad

Islamabad has recorded 128 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 104,242 with 2,829 active cases. With no new death reported in the Federal Capital, the death toll remains at 902. With 231 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 100,511 in the federal capital so far.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir

Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 55 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 33,787 with 1,042 active cases. With no new death reported, the death toll remains at 729. There were 110 new recoveries in the AJK as 32,016 patients have recovered so far from the virus.

Gilgit-Baltistan

Gilgit-Baltistan recorded 5 new cases during the last 24 hours, as the tally reached 10,245 with 204 active cases. With no new death reported in the province, the death toll remains at 182. There were 18 new recoveries as the number of patients recovered from the deadly disease reached 9,859.
