TIMERGARA: Jamaat-i-Islami chief senator Siraj ul Haq on Thursday said the country economy was on the ventilator and masses had lost trust in the government due to the IMF policies. Addressing a prize distribution function after a ‘Seerat un Nabi’ quiz competition at Timergara rest house the JI chief alleged that Corona virus had reached the country due to government negligence and incompetency.
The function was also addressed by JI Youth central president Zubair Ahmad Gondal, JI district emir Izaz ul Mulk, former MNA Sahibzada Yaqub Khan, former provincial minister Muzafar Syed and others.
Siraj ul Haq said that youth were the real asset of Pakistan and they should play active role in decision making process. “We have not got Pakistan in alms. Thousands of men, women and youth have sacrificed lives for it,” Mr Haq said, adding the country was not made a real Islamic welfare state during the last 72 years. He said the rulers did not defend geographical and ideological boundaries of the country by surrendering 90000 soldiers to India. The JI chief said that after the partition, agents of the British were ruling the country generation after generation. He said that setting up of ‘Langar Khanas’ instead of industries was not development. The JI chief said his party had launched protest agitation against the government for its failure to control price hike, inflation and unemployment. He asked workers to take active parts in those protest demonstrations.
Mr Haq also addressed a Khatm e Bukhari function at a local seminary at Khazana and urged the government to resolve the issue of Jamia Hifsa Islamabad wisely to avert any untoward incident like the past. He said that religious seminaries were the forts of Islam as they played a vital role in spreading the teachings of Quran and Sunnah. Seminary’s students, teachers and area elders attended the function.
