SC rejects Panama case review petitions

ISLAMABAD: The five-member bench of the Supreme Court dismissed all review petitions against the Panama verdict on July 28, after the petitioners counsels concluded their arguments earlier in the day.

The review petitions were filed by the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his children and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar against the Supreme Verdict in Panama case on July 28 in which the apex disqualified Nawaz Sharif and found him dishonest and also directed the NAB officials for filing corruption references against Sharif family and Ishaq Dar.

Justice Asif Saeed Khosa read out the short-order in this regard, Justice Khosa who also headed the five-member bench and adding the court will share reasosn behind dismissing the review petitions.

The bench was headed by Justice Khosa and comprised Justice Gulzar Ahmed, Justice Ijazul Ahsan, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan who along with the latter two headed the special implementation bench in the Panama case that oversaw the work of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT).
