Panamagate JIT accuses Maryam Nawaz of presenting fake documents

LAHORE (Online): The Panama case joint investigation team (JIT), in its report submitted with the Supreme Court, has accused Maryam Nawaz, daughter of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, of presenting fake documents to the probe team, which it says is an offence.

The report says that Maryam Safdar – married name of Maryam Nawaz Sharif – claimed herself to be trustee of Avenfield properties in London, which links her to Minerva Services and Samba Financial.

It says that her claim has turned out to be completely wrong and it has been proven that she owns the properties managed by Minerva Services.

Maryam presented fake documents to the probe team, which is an offence, the report states. These fake documents, signed by Hussain Nawaz, Maryam Safdar and Captain (R) Safdar, were part of an effort to hide facts.

It also accused PM’s son Hassan Nawaz of trying to misguide the apex court by submitting these documents.

Maryam Nawaz rejects report

Meanwhile, Maryam Nawaz rejected the report in a tweet, saying, “Every contradiction will not only be contested but decimated in the Supreme Court”.
