PCB Chief terms Shaheen Afridi’s matter as a non-issue

F.P. Report

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja said the debate regarding Shaheen Shah Afridi’s rehabilitation expeditions in London is actually a ‘non-issue’.

He said that how could PCB leave Shaheen Shah Afridi alone?

“No one can think like that leaving Shaheed Shah Afridi alone. Afridi is our match winner and our hero,” Ramiz Raja said.

He claimed that Shaheen Shah Afridi’s matter is pushing towards controversy.

However, he admitted, maybe there were some things left in a hurry, but this impression was wrong that PCB did not take care of national players.

Raja said that PCB took care of international and national level players too.

“We take care of even 10-year-old cricketers, then how could PCB leave Afridi in his medical treatment,” he asked.

Earlier, PCB assured the former star cricketer Shahid Afridi to pay all the expenses of rehabilitation and treatment in London to national fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Shahid Afridi claimed that the PCB did not cooperate financially with Shaheen.

In a talk on a private channel, Shahid Afridi revealed that Shaheen has taken an air ticket from Dubai to London from his own pocket and is staying in the UK at his own expense.
