People advised to adopt steps to prevent diseases in cold

ASTORE: Health experts and doctors have urged people to adopt proactive measures to prevent any mishap or disease these days when cold intensified by each passing day. Talking to media, Dr Bashir Ahmed said since cold wave has gripped the area, so people of Astore were at high risk of diseases like pheumonia, cold and cough etc.

Thus, they were advised to wear always warm clothes and mask to keep body temperature high and prevent severe cold. He said several patients visit hospitals on daily basis, complaining of diseases which were caused by severe cold, especially such dry winter. He said the government had made elaborate arrangements to provide best health services to people of the area and doctors along with paramedical staff had been directed to ensure their presence during duty timings. He said health units and hospitals were supplied with all necessary medicines and medical equipments to efficiently handle emergency situation.

Moreover, he added much people had been witnessed with bruises in hospitals as they lost balance while walking on grounds covered with snow, recklessly. Thus, he suggested people to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities and walk carefully on such slippery grounds. He said that the severe cold some time frozen the body parts of human being and it is very dangerous for health, further more flow is also common disease in winters season which can also turn into Pneumonia if the patient did not take proper medicine in time.
