People should have the power to decide the fate of politicians: Bilawal

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that People of Pakistan should only have the right to decide the fate of the Politicians.

Bilawal said while sharing his views on Twitter on Friday.  Bilawal tweeted after a historic Supreme Court verdict ruled that lawmakers disqualified under Article 62(1)(f) of the Constitution will be unable to contest elections for the rest of their life.

He blamed that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) pave the way of judicialisation of our politics and now both Nawaz and Tareen will face the consequences now.

Bilawal added that he strongly believes that it’s the people of Pakistan who should make such decisions about the future of politicians.

Apex court’s verdict seals the political fate of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, PTI leader Jahangir Tareen and other lawmakers disqualified under the Article 62(1)(f).

Earlier in the day, the apex court bench unanimously ruled that the Constitution states that those not ‘honest’ and ‘truthful’ as per law are banned from Parliament for life.
