Peshawar is on the top list in suspected measles cases
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department is plane to start measles campaign across KP from 15 October till 29 October to vaccinate children against measles.
Dr. Akram Shah Expanded Program on Immunization said that all plane has been finalized for the upcoming measles campaign across KP, adding that around 4.8 million children will be the target of the campaign.
He further said that that from nine month children up to 59 months children will be vaccinated in the campaign, adding that 49 areas have been specified for the campaign while 4660 teams will be part of the campaign.
He further added that around 932 doctors have been trained while the vaccinators and other staff training is in the pipe line and they will be trained before October.
It merit mention here that this year from January to September around 1676 suspected cases of measles have so far reported from KP while 18 children were died because of the measles in D. I .Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The report of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health department said that Peshawar is on the top list in suspected measles cases as this year around 3502 cases were reported, Mardan 2574, Nowshera 1382, D.I.Khan 1281, Batagram 734, Lower Dir 646, Malakand 639, Charsadda, 595, Kohat 573, Karak 561, Bannu 517, Shangla 517, Swabi 503, Abbotabbad 493, Dir Upper 474 cases of measles were reported.
