PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court single bench comprising of Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim acquitted culprit in murder case and suspended Rs, five lac fine and life imprisonment, on Monday.
The counsel for petitioner Syed Mubashir Shah informed PHC that his client was convicted in murder case of 2001 which happened in the premises of Topi police station.
The petitioner namely Amjad Ali had allegedly killed Idress on 27 July 2001 but prosecution did not provided the evidence when can prove involvement of the petition.
The counsel Syed Mubashir Shah Advocate informed that petitioner was absconder and latterly police had arrested him. Moreover, learned trial judge had convicted in the offense and imposed Rs,5 lac and life imprisonment.
The counsel for petitioner informed that evidence collected by police is also insufficient and contradictory.
The defense counsels opposed appeal and claimed that the petitioner is habitual offender.
After finalization of arguments PHC had acquitted the petitioner from charges and suspended fine and imprisonment.
