PHC acquits smuggler from charges

PESHAWAR: A divisional bench of Peshawar High Court (PHC) comprising of Justice Rooh-ul-Amin and Justice Arshad Ali has acquitted smuggler from charges.

According to prosecution, Shah Nawaz was charged in smuggling 15 kilograms hashish which was recovered from secrete cavities from vehicle. However, session court Peshawar convicted Shah Nawaz convicted for lifetime imprisonment in 2020.

The counsel Shahab Khattak Advocate informed that PHC evidences and witness produced against Shah Nawaz didn’t established link between the commencement of offense and petitioner. The divisional bench comprising of Justice Rooh-ul-Amin and Justice Arshad Ali acquitted Shah Nawaz from charges after conclusion of arguments.
