PESHAWAR: The two-member bench comprising of Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Justice Qaiser Rashid and Justice Ijaz Anwar directed Environmental Protection Agency to inspect Frontier green wood factory and submit report before court on Thursday.
Frontier green wood has filed writ petition at PHC against notices issued by EPA for violating of environmental laws.
The counsel for petitioner Ishaq Ali Qazi Advocate informed court that factory is located in Peshawar and is fulfilling standards set by provincial government in 2015.
The counsel urged that notice was issued only to Frontier Green Wood and added that factory is allocating millions of rupees for treatment of waste.
The counsel for petitioner also informed that Apex Court had constituted commission for check board industry to set standards for the factories and Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industries also set standards.
The counsel for petitioner Ishaq Ali Qazi Advocate urged that industrialists are willing to adopt government standards to ensure proper treatment of industrial waste on scientific methods.
