PHC directs Secretary’s Home to appear on Tuesday for framing of charges

PESHAWAR: A divisional bench of Peshawar High Court (PHC) comprising of Justice Rooh-ul-Amin and Justice Abdul Shakoor ordered secretary’s home to appear personally for framing of charges in Contempt of Court (COC) today (on Tuesday).

The COC was filed by Saad Ullah Khan Marwat and Syed Bilal Jan Advocates along with others seeking implementation PHC’s order regarding provision of Kalashnikov to lawyer fraternity during bad law and order situation.

Although, the lawyer community also facing security issues presently and COC was filed for implementation of Peshawar High Court’s order in the regard but court’s direction didn’t make practical by competent forum, the petition added.

However, the divisional ordered Secretary Home to appear before PHC because licenses didn’t issue to lawyers despite issuance of several notices for framing of charges under COC.

PHC has issued notice Advocate General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to frame charge against Secretary Home as prosecutor while further should be continues from today (on Tuesday).
