PESHAWAR: The two-member bench comprising of Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Justice Qaiser Rashid and Justice Nasir Mehfooz directed Director General Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to block TikTok, on Thursday.
Director General PTA appeared before court and informed that TikTok administration did not addressed their grievances and not uphold their requests for removal of objectionable contents.
Chief Justice PHC Justice Qaiser Rashid directed DG PTA to blocked TikTok app until the administration addressed the grievances of PTA.
During hearing Chief Justice Qaiser Rashid remarked that content available on TikTok app is against social norms and values.
Chief Justice remarked that TikTok contents affecting most of youth in the society.
Chief Justice PHC inquired about the office of TikTok app and its operational center. DG PTA informed court that TikTok office is located in Singapore and its operating from Dubai.
