PHC extends status quo against schemes

PESHAWAR: A divisional bench comprising of Chief Justice Peshawar High Court (PHC) Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Waqar Ahmed has extended status quo against the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s block and umbrella schemes till 19th November, on Tuesday.

The counsel Sultan Muhammad Khan advocate for opposition leader Dr. Abbullah, appeared before the court, while Additional Advocate General represented the provincial government. The Additional Advocate General requested for more time, which the court granted, adjourning the hearing until November 19 and extending the stay order.

The opposition members had approached the Peshawar High Court against the provincial government’s umbrella schemes and block allocation, leading to the court’s initial stay order against the government’s use of funds.

PHC grants protective bails: Peshawar High Court (PHC) has granted protective bail to Special Assistant Musaddiq Abbasi till 14th November, while withdrawing a petition filed against Naeem Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman lawyer Haider Panjutha, Tuesday.

PHC’s divisional bench comprising of Justice S M Attique Shah and Justice Sahibzada Asadullah heard the petition filed by Musaddiq Abbasi. Abbasi’s lawyer, Alam Khan Adezai, informed the court that the petitioner wanted to appear in relevant courts in Islamabad, as cases were registered against him after protesting ¹.

The court approved Abbasi’s protective bail until November 14 and directed him to appear in the relevant courts. Similarly, the petition filed against Naeem Haider Panjutha, Imran Khan’s lawyer, was withdrawn as the petitioner failed to appear in court.
