PHC stops new recruitment at SIDB

PESHAWAR: The two-member bench of Peshawar High Court comprising of Justice Sahibzada Asadullah and Justice Waqar Ahmad has directed competent authorities to submit comments in termination of small industries development board’s employees and stopped provincial government from new recruitment, on Tuesday.
The counsel for petitioner Rahman Ullah Shah Advocate informed PHC that petition was filed 109 employees including female who were recruited in 2002 Small Industries Development Board (SIDB) through advertisement and were terminated on 30 June.
The contract of petitioner Zahir Shah and others were extended several times since 2002.
The counsel informed that petitioner including both technical and non-technical staff. The counsel argued that SIDB has to active centers at Peshawar and Swabi.
The counsel Rahman Ullah Shah Advocate argued that termination after 19 not only injustice with the petitioner but also against the fundamental law.
The counsel argued that stop provincial government from new recruitment and to regularize the petitioner.
The two member of PHC comprising of Justice Sahibzada Asadullah and Waqar Ahmad after initial hearing directed competent authorities to submit comments and granted status quo against new recruitment SIDB.
