PESHAWAR: A divisional bench of Peshawar High Court (PHC) comprising of Justice Rooh-ul-Amin and Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim has stopped transferring of assets to Agriculture University DI Khan from Faculty of Agriculture at Gomal varsity, on Thursday.
The counsel Muhammad Asghar Kundi Advocate informed that on 22nd September PHC holds Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s cabinet decision regarding transferring of assets to Agriculture University DI Khan null and void.
Earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s cabinet has approved transfer of assets from Faculty of Agriculture to the varsity but it was challenged by former Vice Chancellor Gomal University Iftikhar Ahmad, the counsel argued.
Vice Chancellor (VC) Gomal University Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad was kicked from the office while Masroor Elahi Babar was granted the charge as Acting VC of the varsity. Acting VC Masroor Elahi Babar has issued five notifications from 24 to 28 September after two days of PHC’s decisions, the counsel Asghar Kundi Avocate argued.
The divisional bench of PHC comprised of Justice Rooh-ul-Amin and Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim granted status quo while adjourned further hearing in Contempt of Court petition against Acting VC Masroor Elahi Babar and Registrar Gomal University Naimat Ullah in the transferring assets to Agriculture University.
