ISLAMABAD: The cash-strapped Pakistan International Airlines has further restricted its flight operation due to a shortage of fuel, on Friday.
The national flag carrier which has not enough fuel to operate its all flights has cancelled 58 domestic and international flights today.
On Thursday, as many as 49 flights of the Pakistan International Airlines were cancelled after the Pakistan State Oil (PSO) refused to supply fuel to the airline despite the payment of over Rs130 million.
The PSO insisted it would not supply fuel to the PIA unless the latter cleared its dues.
However, fuel is being supplied to some special PIA flights.
The national flag carrier has been facing the most severe crisis in its history for two weeks after the PSO cut its fuel supply. It has cancelled more than 400 flights during the last two weeks.
