PIA plane hit by snowstorm safely lands at Toronto airport

TORONTO: In order to avoid any untoward incident, a PIA plane which was hit by heavy snowfall made a safe landing at the Toronto International Airport, on Wednesday.

According to details, the national flag carrier Boeing 777 was going to Toronto Airport when it was knocked by heavy snowfall.

The astute pilot tried to control the aircraft which was buffeted by the storm and contacted the Toronto control tower requesting them to remove the snow from the runway so that the plane could land safely.

As soon as the pilot informed the airport authorities, the airport staff quickly assembled at the runway and tried to remove snow with the help of machines.

Flight PK-797 reached Toronto from Lahore.

PIA CEO Arshad Malik commended the effort of the pilot and also thanked the Toronto airport authorities for quickly removing the snow from the runway.
