PM Imran Khan is the only leader of Pakistan: Fawad Chaudhry

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry said on Saturday that Prime Minister Imran Khan was the only leader of Pakistan.

“There is only one leader that is Imran Khan even if someone likes or dislikes the prime minister or is upset with him,” Fawad Chaudhry said during a news conference.

The minister told the opposition that they should learn to live with this and wait for five years.

“On the economy, the [opposition] are crying like they have nothing to do with it. If they had any values they would not have spoken on the economy for three to four years so people would forget what they did.”

Chaudhry told reporters the government was working on stabilising the economy and the government would be making announcements on talks with the International Monetary Fund soon.

According to Fawad Chaudhry, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government was not facing any political challenges.

“Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari are politically irrelevant.”

When asked a question about the rising dollar rate, Chaudhry replied, “We are telling Zardari and Nawaz Sharif to return the dollars. If they do this the rate of the dollar will improve.”

‘Comsats to develop app to view moon’

The minister has formed a committee to predict key dates and months of the Islamic calendar, with an aim to put an end to the moon sighting controversies in the country.

During the news conference, Fawad Chaudhry announced that Comsats would develop a mobile app through which people could view the moon.

“A calendar will be made by the 15th of Ramzan. But there was an issue of being able to see the moon. For this, I have tasked Comsats to make an app.”

Chaudhry said he had invited members of the Ulema to be part of the committee and see how this issue can be concluded.
