PM Imran’s statement about terrorism reported out of context: PM Office

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister’s Office has clarified that the PM Imran Khan’s statement in Iran, on the use of Pakistani soil was being reported out of context.

PM office issued statement in this regard on Wednesday and it stated that the expression was misinterpreted in an effort that did not serve the interest of the country.

It said “There has been a lot of debate about Prime Minister’s statement on use of Pakistani soil. The statement has been largely taken out of context”.

PM office’s statement read, PM Imran Khan was talking about non-state actors using Pakistani soil under foreign influence to carry out activities in Pakistan or coordinating from Pakistan, case in point is Kulbushan Jadev / alike and local facilitators”, it said.

In the same manner, Pakistan is attacked using soil of Iran and Afghanistan. The same was clearly stated by the PM during his visit to Iran while referring to the latest incident in Balochistan. This is why the PM is making all out efforts for peace across whole region.

Earlier on Monday, PM Khan, during his maiden official visit to Iran, had resolved “to not allow any militant group to operate from Pakistani soil.”

“We have been suffering through terrorism for a long time. We have suffered more than any other country. We have lost around 70,000 people. Our security agencies must be appreciated the way they had tackled terrorism in Pakistan,” the premier had said in a press conference in Tehran.
